Delta State Traditional Rulers Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Presidency

The Delta State Traditional Rulers Council has pledged its support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections. This announcement was made known on Tuesday, March 25, during a visit by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the Council’s secretariat in Asaba.

Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, welcomed the First Lady and commended President Tinubu for his government’s investment in infrastructure, particularly the Benin-Asaba and Benin-Warri expressways, as well as the access road to the Second Niger Bridge.

The monarch also called for support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, citing the extensive roadworks across the state under his leadership. The Okpe monarch further urged President Tinubu to support the governor’s re-election to ensure the continuation of these projects.

 

The traditional ruler expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her efforts in supporting Nigerian women, particularly the younger generation, through various initiatives.

In her address, Senator Oluremi Tinubu spoke about the impact of HIV/AIDS on young Nigerians and the importance of accessible treatment programs. She also called for increased awareness of health issues, particularly the fight against female genital mutilation, and announced significant funding secured for tuberculosis treatment.

The First Lady urged traditional rulers to champion these important health causes, reaffirming her strong commitment to the nation’s development.
