Delta Speaker Applauds Okowa’s Appointment as South-South Coordinator
Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated former Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa on his appointment as South-South Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker said Okowa’s integrity, strategic outlook, and ability to mobilise diverse interests earned him the confidence of the President and leaders across the country.
Guwor noted that the former governor has a deep grasp of the challenges and opportunities within the South-South and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to transparent governance and regional development. He added that the new appointment signals a push for inclusive growth, infrastructure expansion, and stronger economic prospects in the Niger Delta.
According to the Speaker, Okowa’s leadership will be crucial in translating the President’s vision into projects that uplift communities across the region, reinforcing the administration’s dedication to equitable national development. He also expressed optimism that collaboration between Delta State, the Renewed Hope Initiative, and the Federal Government would further strengthen President Tinubu’s prospects going into the 2027 elections.
Guwor assured that the Delta State House of Assembly is fully prepared to support Okowa as he begins his work in the new role.
