Delta Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers and Cultists

The Delta State Police Command has arrested several suspected kidnappers and cultists in a series of coordinated operations. Weapons were seized during the raids, officials say.

One of the suspects, Collins Chiadiji, also known as “Smooth”, was arrested at a hideout along Ibusa Road. He has been wanted for multiple kidnappings in Ibusa, Ogwashi-Uku, and Asaba. Police recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition from his home in Ewulu community.

Another suspect, Andrew Ezechie, was found with two pump-action guns and live cartridges. The police say the suspects belong to a syndicate responsible for kidnappings across the region. Separate raids also led to the arrest of three suspected cultists near Abraka, who were found with weapons and items linked to the Eiye confraternity.

The Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, lauded the swift actions of his officers and urged the public to remain vigilant. He also called on parents to discourage youth involvement in cultism and criminal activities.
