Delta Police Advise Banks on Security Ahead of Festive Season

The Delta State Police Command has urged banks to step up security measures in preparation for the end-of-year festive season, citing heightened criminal activity during the period.

Speaking at a strategic meeting with bank officials, Deputy Commissioner of Police Olumuyiwa Adejobi stressed the need for functional CCTV systems and stronger coordination with law enforcement.

Authorities say the ember months are typically marked by increased population movement and criminal activity, making financial institutions vulnerable targets.

The Central Bank’s security officials supported the initiative, warning that banks without armed escorts may not receive cash disbursements in the coming weeks.
