Delta Father Admits to Years of Sexually Abusing His Three Daughters
A 54-year-old man has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly sexually abusing his three daughters over a period spanning seven years.
Confirming the arrest on Saturday in Asaba, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, said the abuse was discovered after a school outreach led by the Divisional Police Officer of the Ugborikoko Division, CSP Temi Agbede Zuokumor, during which one of the girls spoke out.
“The Command has arrested a father who has been sexually assaulting his three daughters for the past seven years,” he said.
Police officials said the victims, aged 13, 15 and 24, are currently receiving medical care and counselling. According to investigators, the suspect admitted to repeatedly assaulting his daughters, starting with the eldest when she was 12.
The man remains in custody and is expected to be charged to court under Delta State’s sexual-offence laws. The Command says it will ensure the case is pursued fully in line with the state’s commitment to protecting minors.
