Ethiope Constituency Leaders Move to Unseat Ibori-Suenu in 2027
Political leaders in the Ethiope Federal Constituency have openly criticised the performance of their House of Representatives member, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, during a strategic meeting in Eku, Ethiope East. Participants said the constituency has experienced neglect and limited legislative advocacy since her election.
The meeting, which brought together community leaders, youth groups, and senior politicians, resolved to reorganise ahead of the 2027 elections and field a more active and accountable candidate. Former lawmaker Hon. Halims Agoda emphasised that Ethiope needs a representative who will consistently defend the constituency’s interests in the National Assembly.
Senator Ighoyota Amori and other influential leaders reaffirmed their support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, pledging a united front for upcoming elections. The gathering concluded with confidence votes in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, both adopted as the constituency’s preferred candidates for 2027.
Stakeholders vowed that Ethiope would no longer remain politically voiceless and committed to reclaiming stronger representation in the next electoral cycle.
