Delta Extends Deadline for Okada, Keke Security Profiling

The Delta State Government has granted a two-week extension for motorcycle (Okada) and tricycle (Keke) operators to complete mandatory security profiling. The measure, part of efforts to curb crime, requires riders to obtain government-approved cards, aprons, emblems, and stickers at a subsidised fee of ₦7,500 through the Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycles Operators Association (COMTOA) offices.

Commissioner for Transport Onoriode Agofure stressed the importance of compliance, saying the initiative aims to enhance safety and regulate the commercial transport sector.

The profiling exercise will be enforced by Vehicle Inspection Officers in collaboration with security agencies and COMTOA’s task force once the grace period ends.

Defaulters risk having their motorcycles or tricycles impounded. The government urged all riders to take advantage of the extension to avoid penalties.
