David Mark-Led ADC Accuses INEC of Yielding to Political Pressure

The faction of the African Democratic Congress aligned with former Senate President David Mark has challenged the position of the Independent National Electoral Commission on a recent Court of Appeal ruling tied to the party’s leadership dispute.

In a statement released Wednesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, questioned the electoral body’s interpretation of the judgment and argued that the commission’s response reflects external influence.

Abdullahi said the government appears uneasy about the party’s growing political presence, noting that opposition groups have faced continuous pressure. He insisted that INEC’s latest statement clashes with facts and lacks logical consistency.

The party said it is assessing available options and will announce its next line of action soon. Abdullahi also urged supporters to remain calm and steadfast, expressing optimism about the party’s political trajectory.
