Dangote Refinery Says It Can Meet Nigeria’s Daily Fuel Demand
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reaffirmed its capacity to meet and exceed Nigeria’s daily fuel requirements, positioning itself as a major stabilising force in the domestic energy market. The refinery stated that it currently produces well above estimated national consumption levels.
According to the company, it can supply up to 75 million litres of petrol daily against an estimated national demand of 50 million litres, alongside 25 million litres of diesel compared to daily consumption of about 14 million litres. Aviation fuel output is also projected at 20 million litres per day, far exceeding local needs.
The refinery noted that producing beyond demand helps build supply buffers, reduces reliance on imports, and supports market stability, especially during periods of high demand or logistical disruptions. It added that all products meet international quality standards.
Dangote Refinery also reaffirmed its commitment to regulatory compliance and collaboration with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, stressing that its operations align with Nigeria’s broader energy security objectives.
