Court Grants Portable N2m Bail Over Assault Charges
An Ogun State Magistrate Court in Abeokuta on Thursday, February 20, has granted controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, better known as Portable, bail in the sum of N2 million following his arraignment on assault charges.
Portable, who is facing allegations of assaulting government officials, appeared in court today after surrendering to the Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Lagos Command, on Wednesday, February 19. He was subsequently transferred to the Ogun Command’s headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The singer was arraigned on a five-count charge, which includes conspiracy, assault, unlawful restriction, and possession of weapons, including cutlasses and guns. Portable pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The case stems from an incident where Portable, along with his associates, allegedly assaulted, restricted, and obstructed three town planners—Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero—while they were carrying out their duties at Odogwu Bar, a venue owned by the musician.
Nine of Portable’s associates, who were also implicated in the assault, were arraigned earlier this month. They face similar charges.
Following Portable’s not guilty plea, his lawyer, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, requested bail, assuring the court of the singer’s remorse.
Magistrate O. L. Oke granted bail at N2 million, with one surety, and adjourned the trial to March 5.
