Bayelsa Police Arrest Suspects in Judge’s Kidnap

The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested the suspects involved in the abduction of Justice Ebiyerin Omukoro, a High Court judge kidnapped in Yenagoa on June 21.

Governor Douye Diri disclosed this during the State Executive Council meeting held Wednesday at the Government House in Yenagoa. He revealed that all the suspects connected to the crime had been apprehended, except for the gang leader who remains at large.

Justice Omukoro was held captive for 12 days before being rescued through a coordinated effort by various security agencies in the state.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, Governor Diri reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance policy for crime and warned criminals to steer clear of Bayelsa.

He also noted improvements in the state’s security system, including the deployment of drones for police surveillance and the installation of CCTV cameras across Yenagoa.

The governor further commended the efforts of all security agencies for their continued commitment to keeping the state safe and peaceful.
