Bayelsa Govt Sets Date, Programme for Deputy Governor’s Burial
The Bayelsa State Government has finalised plans for the burial of its late Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, fixing Friday, January 30, for the final rites.
Governor Douye Diri disclosed the date at the 179th State Executive Council meeting, stating that the decision followed consultations involving the Ewhrudjakpo family, the state government and the Catholic Church.
Activities marking the burial will begin on Tuesday, January 27, with sporting events, followed by commemorative programmes on January 28 and 29.
The funeral service and interment will hold on January 30 in Ofoni community, Sagbama Local Government Area, as the state continues to mourn the passing of one of its top officials.
