APGA Adopts Tinubu as 2027 Presidential Candidate

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. The announcement was made by Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, during President Tinubu’s working visit to the state on Wednesday.

Speaking at a grand event held at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, Governor Soludo declared that APGA would collaborate with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next election, citing a shared ideological foundation in progressivism.

The announcement is viewed as an unprecedented political alliance in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic, particularly as APGA has traditionally positioned itself as a regional party with strong roots in the Southeast.

As part of the President’s visit, Tinubu was also conferred with a prestigious chieftaincy title by traditional rulers from all 179 communities in Anambra State. This underscores the growing support for the President in a region historically considered outside his core political base.
