APC Members Protest in Lagos, Demand Removal of Party Chairman

Protesters representing all 57 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State have converged at the Lagos State House of Assembly, demanding the immediate removal of the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi. The large crowd arrived early in the day, carrying placards with slogans such as “Ojelabi Must Go” and “We Want Fresh Leadership,” and chanting loudly to express their dissatisfaction with the current party leadership.

The protest has drawn attention from both party members and security agencies. In response, the Lagos State Police Force deployed a robust presence around the Assembly complex to ensure the demonstration remained peaceful and to prevent any outbreak of violence.

The protesters allege mismanagement and poor leadership under Pastor Ojelabi, calling for urgent reforms to rejuvenate the party ahead of upcoming elections. Despite the scale of the protest, as of this report, neither the Lagos APC leadership nor the Lagos State House of Assembly has issued an official statement yet.
