Ambode Rejects ADC Rumours, Pledges Support for Tinubu’s Re-election
Former Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has publicly declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. Ambode, who served as governor under the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissed recent rumours linking him to a governorship bid with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as false.
In a statement released on Saturday, Ambode reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and lauded President Tinubu’s leadership. He called the president a “proven achiever” whose administration has introduced significant reforms in areas including pensions, student loans, and youth empowerment.
Ambode also noted the government’s efforts to address fuel shortages and improve security across Nigeria. He expressed confidence that with another term, Tinubu’s administration would deliver even more progress.
The former governor urged party members and Nigerians to reject distractions from political rumours and focus on supporting Tinubu’s re-election campaign. His declaration comes amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 polls.
