Air Peace Strands Over 50 Warri-Bound Passengers in Lagos

More than 50 passengers travelling to Warri were left stranded at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, following a disruption to an Air Peace flight. Travellers said they waited for several hours without clear communication from the airline.

Some passengers said the delay stretched beyond five hours, with boarding information remaining unavailable. One traveller explained that the airline initially cited weather conditions around 8:00 a.m. but failed to provide updates afterward, leaving passengers uncertain about when the flight would depart.

Concerns were heightened after it emerged that some travellers had pressing needs. A relative of one passenger, Mr. Okome Thomas, said his aunt, who has an underlying medical condition, arrived at the airport as early as 6:27 a.m. to catch the Warri-bound flight for health-related reasons but received no guidance from airline officials.

Passengers expressed frustration over what they termed poor customer handling, accusing the airline of showing little regard for travellers’ welfare. Attempts by Vanguard to obtain an official response from Air Peace regarding the disruption were unsuccessful as of the time of filing the report.
