Delta Police Arrest Woman Over Alleged Plot to Rob Boyfriend

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old woman, Jessica Anthony, for allegedly orchestrating a robbery targeting her boyfriend’s gold jewellery, following a foiled attempt in Asaba.

According to police investigations, Jessica reportedly collaborated with a friend identified as Ada to source criminals who would steal the valuables and hand over the proceeds to her. She allegedly claimed the plan was aimed at raising money to settle her sister’s financial obligations.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the suspect unknowingly approached a community leader in Warri who has been working closely with law enforcement. After identifying the intended victim, the leader alerted the boyfriend, who advised that the plot be allowed to unfold.

The suspects allegedly collected N65,000 from Jessica for logistics and were later apprehended after she led the supposed robbers to the victim’s residence. The boyfriend, who valued the targeted jewellery at several millions of naira, expressed shock over the incident as police investigations continue.
