NDLEA Seizes N300 Million Worth of Drugs, Arrests Two in Delta State
The Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) seized illicit drugs valued at approximately N300 million and arrested two individuals. The suspects, Zaharadeen Yahaya, 25, and Sanusi Maman, 23, were detained after operatives intercepted two commercial buses filled with narcotics on January 15, 2026, along the Asaba–Onitsha expressway.
The confiscated drugs include 410,800 pills of tramadol, 84.2 litres of codeine syrup, 82,250 diazepam tablets, 900 swinol tablets, and 65 molly pills. The total street value of the seized substances is estimated at N300 million. The operation was carried out based on credible intelligence and led by State Commander Dr. Halilu Hamidu.
Commander Hamidu commended the operatives for their dedication and urged the public to continue supporting the NDLEA’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse. He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to creating a drug-free society.
Both suspects are currently in NDLEA custody and will face charges in court once investigations are completed.
