NSCDC Arrests, Convicts Pipeline Vandals in Delta

The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has recorded multiple convictions in its ongoing clampdown on vandalism and economic sabotage across the state.

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Anthony Uchenna, the successes follow intensified enforcement efforts under the leadership of Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo, with several other cases currently before the courts.

One of the recent arrests occurred on January 5, 2026, when NSCDC operatives apprehended a 25-year-old suspect in Kwale while vandalizing OANDO Energy Resources wellheads. Tools recovered at the scene included gas cylinders and mechanical equipment, and the suspect is expected to face prosecution upon the conclusion of investigations.

Another operation the following day saw suspects involved in damage to AGIP pipelines in Forcados handed over to the NSCDC by the Nigerian Army. The Command has reiterated its resolve to protect critical infrastructure and ensure offenders face the full weight of the law.
