Asaba Super Cup Opens With Ughelli Rovers vs Sporting FC Warri

The 2026 Asaba Super Cup will kick off on Saturday, January 17, at Ogor Technical School, Ogor, with Ughelli Rovers FC taking on Sporting FC Warri in the opening match. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 pm.

Launched in December 2023 by Delta Marines FC, the tournament was created as an off-season competition to keep clubs active and give young players competitive exposure. It has since grown into a regular fixture on the Delta football scene.

Ughelli Rovers have played a major role in the competition’s short history, winning the title in 2024. The 2025 edition produced a new champion after Grassrunners FC defeated the Rovers 1–0 in the final through a goal by Congolese striker Bonaventure Lendambi.

Great Udori of Ughelli Rovers remains the tournament’s leading scorer with five goals. Organisers expect the opening fixture to draw strong interest and set the stage for another competitive edition of the Asaba Super Cup.
