Dangote Refinery Tells Nigerians to Report MRS Stations Selling Above N739

Dangote Refinery has called on Nigerians to report any MRS filling station selling petrol above the approved N739 per litre price. The appeal was made in a statement released on Sunday as the company sought to enforce compliance with its pricing directive.

The refinery maintained that its petrol should retail at N739 per litre nationwide, with the gantry price fixed at N699. It also urged other filling station operators to purchase its products at the approved rate to ensure consumers benefit from the reduced cost.

Dangote Refinery added that wider patronage by marketers would help stabilize the downstream sector and deliver relief to Nigerians. Aliko Dangote, president of the refinery, had earlier set a retail price cap of N740 per litre.

Recent checks in Abuja showed that while some MRS and other stations adjusted prices to between N739 and N912 per litre, reports indicated that certain MRS outlets were still selling above the announced benchmark, prompting the refinery’s warning.
