Delta Accelerates Work on 3.1km Tisun Road After Years of Neglect
Residents of Tisun Community in Warri North are expressing renewed optimism as construction of the long-delayed 3.1km Kolokolo–Tisun Road gains momentum. Work began under the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, with contractors now completing land clearing and pushing forward with sand-filling.
Community Management Council Chairman Andrew Omajugho said the progress signals the end of a 40-year struggle for connectivity and development. He credited state and local government officials, including former chairman Dr. Godwin Ebosa and current chairman Festus Ashima, for helping move the project from repeated promises to visible action.
Omajugho noted that villagers are actively collaborating with engineers to ensure the project stays on schedule. He added that riverine and oil-bearing communities are finally seeing evidence that government projects can reach them.
He also commended the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and the Warri Council of Chiefs for ensuring a stable environment in Tisun, which he said was necessary for the road project to commence.
