Warri Prison Officials Accused of Attempted Inmate Swap

Officials at Okere Correctional Facility in Warri, Delta State, are accused of attempting to swap an inmate linked to a robbery in Benin City, Edo State, with a deceased suspect.

The armed robbers, who targeted a young man during the robbery, stole valuable items and transferred N4 million to an online bank account.

Sources revealed that prison staff circulated a photo of a person killed by security forces, claiming it was the inmate. However, investigations showed the inmate had been arrested, escaped, and committed more crimes.
