Consultants Hired to Launch Delta’s Security Trust Fund

The Delta State Government has appointed two consultancy firms to oversee the take-off of its Security Trust Fund, a new initiative aimed at strengthening security measures across the state. The announcement was made on Wednesday by Samuel Osasa, the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, during a press briefing in Asaba, the state capital.

Osasa revealed that the consultants HideaPlus Consultants and North-South Security Limited will play a key role in raising public awareness and securing vital funding for the state’s security operations. He stated that the initiative is in line with directives from Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to ensure a collective approach to safeguarding lives and property in Delta.

“The Trust Fund Consultants will engage the public to raise awareness about the importance of this fund and how it will help achieve a safer Delta State,” Osasa said. “It is crucial that securing the state is not seen as the responsibility of the government alone, but as a joint effort that involves everyone.”

The announcement also marks a strategic move to garner support for local security agencies, with both consultants tasked with fundraising to enhance the capacity of security forces. Osasa noted that the initiative would help alleviate the strain on government resources in securing the state.

Tony Pemu, Managing Director and CEO of HideaPlus Consultants, said security is a shared responsibility. Pemu added that negative media coverage about security issues affects all citizens. He also appealed to the press for responsible reporting that supports the efforts to improve security.

Charles Omordia, Managing Director of North-South Security Limited, spoke about the role of technology in improving security outcomes. He stated that funds raised would be directed towards technological solutions that could bolster security measures in the state.
