Gov Diri Honors Newly Promoted Bayelsa Police Officers
Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has commended the Nigerian Police, particularly the Bayelsa State Command, for their ongoing efforts to ensure peace and security across the state. Governor Diri made the statement during a ceremony in Yenagoa on Monday, where he decorated five police officers who had recently been promoted.
The officers included Sylvester Eseimokumo Ebakumo, elevated from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), and Ifidi Ebitimi, who was promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP). Additionally, Mohammed Yusuf, Musa Mohammed, and Udonne Emmanuel were all promoted from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Governor Diri congratulated the officers on their achievements and urged them to continue their commitment to public service. He noted that the promotions were a testament to the officers’ dedication to their duties in ensuring the safety and stability of the state, expressing his appreciation for both senior and junior officers.
The governor also acknowledged the valuable partnership between the Bayelsa Police Command and the state government, which he said had been key in maintaining a secure environment. He specifically commended Commissioner of Police Francis Idu and the police leadership for their collaboration in achieving this goal.
Diri further encouraged the officers to serve with greater diligence and professionalism, expressing confidence that they would continue to rise in their careers.
The ceremony was attended by senior members of the Bayelsa Police Command, with the Commissioner of Police, Idu, represented by Deputy Commissioner Ofem Arikpo.
