Olu of Warri Launches 10 Million Naira Quiz Competition
Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, The Olu of Warri, has announced the launch of an Inter-Collegiate Quiz and Debate Competition, offering a prize of 10 million naira for the winning team.
This initiative was unveiled during a symposium held on Thursday, October 24, organised by the Office of the Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri in partnership with the CORA Care Foundation.
The event which brought together students from senior secondary schools across Warri and its surrounding areas, featured sessions that equipped participants with crucial insights on career pathways while addressing pressing issues, including drug abuse, cancer awareness, and reproductive health.
Chief Wilson Olley, the Aboludero of Warri Kingdom, who represented Ogiame Atuwatse III, highlighted the vital role of education in shaping the future of young people.
Mr. Collins Edema, Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri and Liaison to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, (NNPCL) reiterated his commitment to supporting the youth of Warri. He announced that his office would cover WAEC fees for 100 students by January 2025, providing much-needed assistance to families.
The keynote speaker, Segun Manuel, a customer service expert, urged the students to embody the resilient spirit of Warri, often coined as “Warri nor dey carry last.”
Other notable speakers included Eyemobe Mattu, Ogechi Megbele (Esq.) and Efemena Adeyeiri (Esq.) who shared additional insights with the attendees.Â
The event reinforced a shared commitment to building a brighter future for Warri’s youth through education, resilience, and community support.
