Ereyitomi Denies NDC Membership, Describes Circulating Card as Forgery

Chief (Dr.) Thomas Ereyitomi

The member representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief (Dr.) Thomas Ereyitomi, has dismissed a Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) membership card bearing his details and photograph as fake, describing it as a deliberate act of political blackmail.

In a statement issued in Warri on Monday, the federal lawmaker insisted that he has never applied for membership of the NDC or authorised anyone to register him in any political party outside the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ereyitomi, a prominent APC figure in Warri Federal Constituency, said the circulation of the alleged membership card was part of a coordinated attempt by political opponents to damage his reputation and create what he called a false anti-party narrative.

According to him, he has no relationship or communication with officials of the NDC and remains fully committed to the APC.

“The card is fake and a product of criminal forgery,” he said, adding that those behind it were attempting to distract the public from the work he has carried out as a lawmaker.

He maintained that his loyalty to the APC remains unquestionable, noting that he has already been screened and cleared by the party ahead of future political activities.

The lawmaker also disclosed that security agencies and relevant authorities have been alerted to investigate the matter, identify those responsible and ensure they are prosecuted.

Ereyitomi urged his supporters, party members and constituents to ignore the circulating card, insisting that it was designed to mislead the public and create unnecessary political tension.

He added that no amount of misinformation or propaganda would weaken his relationship with the people of Warri Federal Constituency.
