Several Feared Dead After Fuel Tanker Crash on Effurun Flyover

An unconfirmed number of people are feared dead after a fuel-laden tanker crashed on the Effurun Roundabout Flyover in Delta State.

The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon near Refinery Junction when the tanker reportedly suffered brake failure and rammed into several tricycles and cars along the busy route.

Eyewitnesses say multiple casualties were recorded, while several injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Emergency responders, including firefighters and police officers, have secured the area to prevent a possible fire outbreak as fuel spilled from the tanker. Authorities are yet to confirm the number of casualties, while residents and motorists have been advised to use alternative routes until the situation is brought under control.
