Residents Foil Armed Robbery in Agbor, Police Arrest Suspect

A suspected armed robber has been arrested in Agbor, Delta State following a failed attack on residents.

According to the Delta Police, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 4 after residents of Full Current Compound in Alihame reported that about eight armed men were attempting to break into their homes.

Officers arriving at the scene found that residents had already subdued one of the suspects, 41-year-old Emeka Ernest from Ukpo in Anambra State.

A search recovered a live cartridge, two spent cartridges, a battle axe, a red cloth believed to be a face mask, and a mobile phone.

Police later carried out a follow-up operation on April 6, recovering a locally made single-barrel gun hidden near the scene, based on information obtained from the suspect.
