PETROAN Urges NNPCL to Resume Warri, Port Harcourt Refineries

The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has urged the Group CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, to ensure the immediate restart of the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries.

The association said reviving the refineries would boost domestic refining capacity and reduce the country’s reliance on imported petroleum products, while also calling for stronger pipeline security to increase crude oil output.

PETROAN President, Dr. Billy Gillis-Harry, praised Ojulari’s first year for implementing reforms, enhancing transparency, and improving operational efficiency in the oil and gas sector.

The group further advised regular stakeholder consultations and recommended on-site inspections at the Warri, Port Harcourt, and Kaduna refineries to monitor progress and reinforce commitment to sustainable operations.
