Suspected Kidnapper Arrested as Police Recover Pistol in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapper and cult member during a raid carried out in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The suspect, Henry Obi, 34, was picked up on April 4, 2026, following an intelligence-driven operation by the command’s Raiders Unit.

Police spokesperson Bright Edafe said preliminary findings indicate that the suspect is linked to kidnapping, armed robbery and cult activities, adding that he admitted affiliation with the Aiye Confraternity.

During a search of the location, officers recovered an English-made pistol with six rounds of live ammunition, while suspected illicit drugs were also found hidden inside a standing air conditioner. The police said investigations are ongoing.
