FG Declares April 3, 6 Public Holidays for Easter

The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released by the ministry and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.

In his message, the minister congratulated Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora as they commemorate Easter, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He also encouraged Nigerians to reflect on the values of selflessness, forgiveness, tolerance and love associated with the teachings and life of Jesus Christ.
