FIFA Agent Hails Warri Stadium Upgrade After Inspection

A  FIFA-licensed agent based in London, Drew Uyi has thrown his weight behind the massive renovations at Warri City Stadium.

Invited by Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Onos Oborevwori, he toured the stadium with project manager Engr. Femi James and journalists, taking in every corner of the upgraded facility.

Uyi was particularly impressed by the new pitch, planted just four weeks ago by Moroccan turf specialists. He observed that the playing surface is in excellent condition, with quality and drainage that meet top international standards. He also paid close attention to the upgraded changing rooms, VIP lounge, and expanded press areas, calling them highly functional and in line with FIFA requirements.

Engr. James revealed the 11-month overhaul is ahead of schedule, now expected to finish by mid-year. Every element follows FIFA standards, and the stadium boasts an advanced security network that can monitor up to 10 kilometers beyond its walls, with room to extend even further.

Uyi expressed confidence that Warri Stadium is ready for top-tier matches, including Super Eagles games. He noted  the quality of the pitch, the comfort of the spectator areas, and the efficiency of operational systems. The upgrades, he said, show Delta State’s determination to make the stadium a flagship venue for football in Nigeria.
