Bobrisky: NCoS Suspends Key Prison Officers Over Alleged Misconduct
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has suspended several senior officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) following a viral social media video alleging misconduct involving popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, Warri Sentinel has learnt.
In a press statement posted on social media, the Board announced the immediate suspension of two Deputy Controllers of Corrections in charge of the Kiri-Kiri Custodial Centres in Lagos State: Michael Anugwa, who heads the Medium Security Custodial Centre, and Sikiru Adekunle, responsible for the Maximum Security Custodial Centre.
Also, ASC II Ogbule Samuel Obinna, serving at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Afikpo, Ebonyi State, was suspended for allegedly escorting a convicted inmate outside the facility without authorisation.
Another senior officer, Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu, Deputy Controller at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kuje, Abuja, was suspended on accusations of receiving money on behalf of an inmate.
According to the Board, the suspensions are intended to ensure thorough investigations, and findings will be made public once completed.
