Agbor Nightclub Sealed for Underage Prostitution, Drug Activities

The Delta State Ministry of Justice has ordered the shutdown of Bolero Hotel and Nightclub in Agbor following allegations of underage prostitution and illegal drug activities. The closure is part of ongoing efforts by the state government to tackle human trafficking and protect vulnerable communities.

The owner, Orewa Ekene, operating as Bolero Concepts, was arrested and charged under the Delta State Human Trafficking (Prohibition) Law, 2024. Following a request from the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, the Delta State High Court on February 11, 2026, issued an interim order sealing the premises while investigations continue.

Ekene pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded at the Agbor Custodial Centre. The next court hearing is scheduled for March 3, 2026, as authorities continue to gather evidence.

Officials from the Ministry of Justice said the closure forms part of a wider crackdown on child exploitation, human trafficking, and drug-related offences across Delta State. They warned that hospitality and entertainment establishments found engaging in illegal activities will face decisive legal action to ensure the protection of minors and vulnerable persons.
