Delta Govt Applauds Warri Stadium Upgrade

The ongoing remodelling of Warri City Stadium has earned high marks from the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Hon. Onoriode Joshua Oborevwori, following an inspection on Tuesday. The visit, conducted on behalf of the Delta State Government, showcased steady progress on the project.

Oborevwori expressed confidence that the refurbished stadium would boost sports development and create opportunities for talent discovery across the state. “A modern, functional facility like this is key to nurturing athletes and growing sports participation,” he said.

Representing the contractors, Engineer James Titus of PECULIAR Consult assured that work is on schedule, with crews working around the clock to meet both quality and timeline expectations.

The inspection team included top officials from the Sports Commission, including Miss Emuobo Egalase, Director-General; Mr. Oghale Ofremu, Commission Member representing Delta South; and other government and technical staff. Oborevwori commended the contractors for their dedication and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to developing and maintaining world-class sports infrastructure.
