17 ADC Rep Members Defect to NDC
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suffered a major setback in the House of Representatives as no fewer than 17 of its members crossed over to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
The defections were officially announced on the floor of the House during Tuesday’s plenary session, drawing attention to a fresh realignment within the chamber.
In a related development, Leke Abejide also left the ADC, but chose to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers who moved to the NDC include Yusuf Datti, Uchenna Okonkwo, Adamu Wakili, Thaddeus Attah, George Ozodinobi, Lilian Orogbu, Oluwaseyi Sowunmi, Peter Aniekwe, Mukhtar Zakari, George Oluwande, Munachim Umezuruike, Emeka Idu, Jesse Onuakalusi, Ifeanyi Uzokwe, Afam Ogene and Abdulhakeem Ado.
Meanwhile, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe also defected from the ADC to the Labour Party.
