16-Year-Old Boy in Critical Condition After Alleged Rape in Warri
A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition at a hospital following an alleged sodomy in Iyara community, Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Reports suggest that the victim was invited to the home of the suspect, identified as Chief Ada Williams Koma, a Chief from Ugboland, Ilaje, Ondo State, under the pretext of collecting some clothing. Once there, the suspect allegedly compelled the boy to eat food laced with substances after asking about his sexual history before assaulting him.
Human rights activist, Israel Joe shared the information in a Facebook post, detailing his visit to St. Melvin Hospital in Warri, where the victim is currently receiving treatment.

“Little early afternoon of today the 6th of February 2025, my team and I visited the St. Melvin hospital Warri on the case of the boy who was senselessly drugged and raped by a popular Chief in Warri” the post reads.
Speaking in an interview with Warri Sentinel, Joe revealed that an anonymous source had reached out to inform him of the disturbing incident. He further alleged that the victim’s uncle tried to cover up the matter after being offered a sum of 80,000 Naira.
Joe further confirmed that the suspect had earlier invited the young boy to his home to collect some clothing, before allegedly forcing him to eat food laced with substances such as “weed” or “India hemp” before sodomising him.
“As excrement and blood poured out of his anus, he was too weak to cry out the pains he was experiencing. Later, he found himself unconscious and soaking at the hospital. When he woke up, he saw his mother, who is deaf and dumb, wiping bIood off the hospital bed and many pounds of bIood already fastened at him.” Joe said.
When asked whether the incident had been reported to the police, the human rights activist revealed that the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has been contacted about the case. However, Joe stated that a formal statement would be submitted to the Warri Area Command. As of the time of this report, the police have not issued a comment on the case.
Residents have expressed their concerns, demanding justice for the victim and suggesting that the 16-year-old may not be the only one affected by the accused. Investigation is still ongoing.
