Ugbarajo Itsekiri USA Denies Financial Mismanagement, Defends Legitimacy, Open to Reaccepting INC

United States based social cultural organization, Ugbarajo Itsekiri USA has refuted claims made by the Itsekiri National Congress (INC) USA, under the leadership of Otse Amorighoye. The accusations included claims of illegitimacy, constitutional violations, and financial misappropriation.

In an exclusive interview with Warri Sentinel News, President of the association, Jemine Yesin rejected the accusations, stating that it regularly presented quarterly financial records to ensure transparency.

Yesin revealed that the INC, USA had set up an interim government, which he said violated the Ugbarajo constitution. He added that the INC, USA sought to take control of the association. This led to a legal dispute over the legitimacy of its executives, with a court in Columbia, USA, ruling in favour of Ugbarajo and upholding the legitimacy of its executive.

Yesin further stated that the INC, USA, presented false documents to the bank and attempted to seize control of the association’s accounts.

According to him, efforts to resolve the dispute through proper channels and in line with the association’s constitution have been unsuccessful.

When asked about the possibility of reconciliation between the two groups, Yesin said Ugbarajo Itsekiri USA was open to accepting members of the INC back as one family. However, he added that they would need to apply for reinstatement through the association’s local chapters.

“Our door remains open. We have let the other group know that the way to become a member of our association is through your local chapters. If you feel the need to get back with us as one family, write to us through your local chapters,” he said.

The Ugbarajo Itsekiri USA President also reaffirmed the association’s commitment to improving the lives of the Itsekiri community in Nigeria through various humanitarian initiatives, including medical outreach. He revealed that the next outreach would take place in the riverine area.
