‘Treat My Wife with Respect’: Chief Uduaghan Tells Akpabio Amid Harassment Claims

The Alema of Warri Kingdom, High Chief Emmanuel O. Uduaghan, husband of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has broken his silence on the ongoing dispute between his wife and Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

In a statement issued earlier today, Uduaghan expressed his initial decision to refrain from commenting on the matter but explained that recent developments had compelled him to address the issue publicly.

“Certain sentiments are being stirred up unnecessarily, distracting from the serious underlying allegations, which should concern every discerning individual with sound family values,” Uduaghan said.

While respecting the ongoing legal proceedings, Uduaghan reiterated his wife’s commitment to serving her constituents, saying she was duly elected due to the “immense love, respect, and confidence” they have in her. He commended Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s dedication to her duties and affirmed the strength of their marriage.

“She is a devoted wife, and the bond we share is deep and unwavering,” he added.

Uduaghan also disclosed that his wife had confided in him about her interactions with Senator Akpabio, whom he had regarded as a family friend. He revealed that he had personally met with the Senate President to address the matter, urging him to treat his wife with the respect she deserves.

“We reached an understanding and agreed to resolve the issue amicably,” Uduaghan said.

However, he noted that his wife continues to raise concerns over what she describes as harassment from Akpabio, despite the agreement.

Uduaghan expressed unwavering confidence in his wife’s loyalty and emphasized the strength of their relationship.

The High Chief concluded his statement by calling on the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as Senate President Akpabio, to treat his wife with the respect and dignity she is owed while the legal process unfolds.
