Tinubu Welcomes Freed Kebbi Schoolgirls, Orders Rescue Push

President Bola Tinubu on Monday welcomed the freedom of 24 schoolgirls abducted in Maga, Kebbi State, last week, calling their return a major relief for the nation. The students were kidnapped at dawn on November 17 when terrorists stormed their school shortly after a military team departed.

Their abduction set off similar incidents in Kwara and Niger states, heightening national concern. All 38 people kidnapped in Eruku, Kwara State, were freed on Sunday, while the Christian Association of Nigeria in Niger State reported that 50 missing Catholic school students had been located in their homes.

Tinubu praised the security agencies for their coordinated efforts so far but insisted that the mission is not over. He directed a strengthened push to rescue every remaining captive and urged immediate reinforcement in vulnerable communities to prevent further attacks. “My government will provide all necessary support to achieve this,” he said.
