Tinubu Orders Nationwide Rice Distribution for Ramadan and Lent

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) to distribute rice across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory in support of Nigerians observing the Ramadan and Lenten seasons. The directive was disclosed by Imo State Governor and RHA Director-General, Senator Hope Uzodimma, in a statement released over the weekend.

According to Uzodimma, the initiative is designed to promote national unity and show compassion during periods of deep spiritual significance for both Muslims and Christians. He emphasized that the gesture reflects the administration’s commitment to supporting citizens during important religious and cultural observances.

The distribution will be carried out through the RHA’s extensive grassroots network to ensure that families nationwide benefit from the intervention. Uzodimma noted that both Christian and Muslim communities would be included in the exercise, reinforcing the administration’s focus on inclusivity and shared national values.

The programme underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to provide relief and foster solidarity among Nigerians during key religious seasons.
