SUG President Launches Solar-Powered Water Project in Delta
Benjamin Omatseye Okotie, the Student Union President of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) has initiated and completed a solar-powered water project in fulfillment of one of his campaign promises to students of the institution.
According to Okotie, the project, which was tagged a special needs project, “was carried out to showcase the multiple capacities of the Union and FUPRE Students, who possess the innovation and energy to cause positive development.”
The Solar-Powered Borehole Project was commissioned by Professor Rim-Rukeh Akpofure Vice Chancellor of the University.
The President also added that the project was executed in collaboration with the leadership of the Union. He however appreciated other students who are leaders of the school’s ‘legislative’ and ‘judicial’ arms.
Other university officials present at the commissioning ceremony include; Prof. Doris Ogeleka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Admin), Dr. (Mrs.) Jane Omoyine, Registrar, Prof. Chinelo Nwokolo, Dean of Students Affairs and Prof. Ezekiel Agbalagba, Dean of College of Sciences amongst others.
