Recall Petition Filed As Constituents Launch #NatashaMustGo Protest
A petition has been received by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Okene, Kogi State on Monday, March 24. The petition seeks the recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, citing a loss of confidence in her leadership.
The petition, lodged by constituents from Kogi Central, is based on Section 69 of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution and INEC’s recall guidelines. It references a ruling by the Court of Appeal on October 31, 2023, which confirmed Akpoti-Uduaghan’s election as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat following the February 2023 election.

In response to the petition, the people of Kogi Central have launched a #NatashaMustGo campaign at INEC’s headquarters in Lokoja, further intensifying their call for the senator’s removal.
