Police, Soldiers Foil Kidnap in Delta, Rescue Three Victims Unharmed

Delta Police Rescues Kidnapped Victims

Issele-Uku, March 18 – Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, working alongside military personnel and local vigilantes, have rescued three kidnapped victims following a gun battle with suspected abductors in Issele-Uku.

According to Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe, the rescue operation was launched after a distress call reported the abduction of three persons in Issele-Uku on Monday.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Issele-Uku Division led the joint security team in tracking the suspects to their hideout, where they engaged the kidnappers in a fierce exchange of gunfire. The victims were successfully freed without injuries.

One of the suspects, identified as Hamadu Hassan, aged 22, sustained gunshot wounds during the confrontation but later died while receiving treatment at a hospital.

Security operatives recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with ammunition at the scene, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang who fled during the operation.

The police reiterated their commitment to sustaining pressure on criminal elements across the state.
