Police Inspector Shot Dead by Colleague in Port Harcourt

A police inspector has been shot dead in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, following an incident with a fellow officer. The shooting occurred on Sunday at a supermarket in the Trans-Amadi area, where Inspector Ibrahim Sani was on joint guard duty with military personnel.

Inspector Ibrahim Sani was fatally shot during the altercation, while another officer, Daniel Dauda, was wounded and is now receiving medical care. The Rivers State Police Command confirmed that the suspect, Inspector Victor Okus, allegedly fired the shots that led to the deadly outcome.

Following the shooting, the suspect was immediately apprehended and is now in police custody. The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State has called for a full investigation into the incident, promising both internal disciplinary action and legal prosecution for the officer involved.

The killing of Inspector Sani has shocked the police force, and authorities are determined to bring justice to the fallen officer while ensuring accountability within the ranks.
