Police Arrest Pastor Over Alleged Sale of 2 Months Old Baby in Ekpan

Police in Ekpan, Delta State, have arrested a pastor, Valentine Osezie of Believers Praise Ministry, Agbarho, in connection with the alleged purchase of a two-month-old baby boy for N1.5 million. His wife was also taken into custody, and the baby has been recovered.

The arrest followed investigations into a viral claim by the child’s mother, identified as Rita, who initially reported that her baby was kidnapped along NNPC Complex Road in Warri. Subsequent police inquiries raised doubts about her account.

Rita was arrested after her husband reported the matter to the Ekpan Police Division, expressing concerns over inconsistencies in her story. During interrogation, she allegedly admitted to selling the baby to the pastor.

Sources said the confession emerged after sustained questioning by investigators. Police are expected to proceed with further action as investigations continue into the suspected child trafficking case.
