”PDP is Dead,” Omo-Agege, Suenu-Ibori Vow APC Takeover in Delta

Former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege and House of Representatives member Erhiatake Suenu-Ibori have promised to unseat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, vowing to deliver the state to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2025 elections.

The two politicians made this declaration over the weekend following Suenu-Ibori’s defection from the PDP to the APC. Representing the Ethiope West and East federal constituency, Suenu-Ibori expressed confidence that her move would mark the end of the PDP’s influence in the state. “PDP is dead and buried in Delta State,” she told supporters, insisting that the APC would soon dominate. “I am home now. The wave of change is coming, and with it, the APC will rise.”

Suenu-Ibori, who previously served under the PDP, framed her defection as a response to her constituents’ wishes, stating that her supporters would remain loyal to the APC.

Her powerful declaration was supported by Omo-Agege, who described Suenu-Ibori as a “bulldozer” and a “goal getter.” The former Deputy Senate President praised her courageous decision to join the APC, noting that it reflected her commitment to the party’s goals and to advancing the president’s “Renewed Hope” agenda. “Delta State APC is stronger today with Erhiatake on board,” Omo-Agege stated, reaffirming their readiness to challenge the PDP. He also paid tribute to the enduring legacy of Governor James Ibori, emphasizing that his influence remains a cornerstone of the APC’s momentum in the state.

The defection of Suenu-Ibori and other prominent figures, including former DESOPADEC managing director Chief Williams Makinde and former PDP national treasurer Hon Solomon Golley, marks a significant shift in Delta’s political landscape.

Suenu-Ibori, who has been active in politics since 2015, also used the occasion to show her appreciation for her supporters. She distributed cars, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, and cash gifts to constituents as a symbol of her commitment to their welfare.
