Oshimili South Chairman Disburses ₦100m to 1,000 Beneficiaries
The Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council, Hon. Kelvin Ezenyili, has distributed ₦100 million to 1,000 beneficiaries as part of his annual empowerment programme in Delta State. The event took place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in Asaba.
Each beneficiary received between ₦50,000 and ₦100,000 to support small-scale businesses, boost livelihoods, and encourage entrepreneurship amid current economic challenges. The initiative aligns with the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
Governor Oborevwori, represented by his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, commended the council chairman for sustaining the programme and urged beneficiaries to manage the funds prudently. He noted that empowerment initiatives are vital for economic resilience, poverty reduction, and human capital development.
Speaking earlier, Hon. Ezenyili said the programme targets traders and artisans who need modest capital to grow their businesses, especially during the festive season. Community leaders and residents at the event praised the council chairman for promoting people-focused governance.
