Oborevwori Suspends Five Headteachers Over Extortion

The Delta State Government has suspended five primary school headteachers for extorting pupils by imposing illegal levies.

The suspensions, announced on Friday, 31 January, were confirmed in a statement from the State Ministry of Information in Asaba, signed by Permanent Secretary Theresa Adiabua-Oliko.

The move follows an investigation and on-site visit by the Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, to schools across the state.

The investigation found that the headteachers had charged unauthorised fees to pupils sitting for the 2025 Cognitive and Placement Examination.
